Hockey
Natalie Goldsmith is an explosive forward from New Zealand and a current New Zealand U18 representative, recognized for her speed, physicality, and goal-scoring instinct in the attacking line. As one of the youngest players selected for the NZ U18 squad in her first year of eligibility, she has already proven her ability to compete and perform against top national-level talent.
Standing at 173 cm, Natalie is a dynamic and aggressive striker who thrives in fast-paced, high-intensity systems. Her game is built around pace, relentless work rate, and her ability to create and finish scoring opportunities under pressure. She consistently looks to stretch defensive lines with intelligent off-ball movement and brings a direct, attacking mindset in the final third.
In addition to her international experience, Natalie competes at a high level domestically for Somerville Premier Women’s, Auckland U18, and St Cuthbert’s College First XI, giving her exposure to both senior and age-group elite environments.
Natalie’s athletic profile is further strengthened by her background as a multi-sport athlete, with competitive experience in track, water polo, and netball. These sports have played a key role in developing her speed, agility, coordination, and spatial awareness—qualities that translate directly into her effectiveness on the hockey field.
Academics
Off the field, Natalie is currently in Year 12 at St Cuthbert’s College, where she maintains strong academic standards with Merit-level results. She is highly coachable, disciplined, and committed to continuous development both academically and athletically. She has a strong interest in pursuing studies in engineering or business at the collegiate level.
Natalie is driven by the ambition to compete at the highest level and ultimately represent the New Zealand Black Sticks. She is seeking a college environment that combines elite hockey with strong academics, where she can continue to develop as a player and contribute to a competitive Division I program.
