About Me

My name is Niels van Haren, and I am a motivated soccer player with the ambition to continue developing both athletically and personally in an international environment. As a person, I am calm and social, but also proactive and not afraid to take on new challenges. I like to take initiative and enjoy carrying responsibility, both within a team and outside of it.

Team spirit plays an important role for me. I strongly believe that a strong collective forms the foundation for both individual development and team success. Because of this mindset, I naturally take on a leadership role within a team.

As a player, I combine physical strength with good game understanding and composure on the ball. Because of my background as a midfielder, I am comfortable under pressure and able to build the game from the back with accurate long passing. My physical presence gives me stability in duels and helps me maintain control in defensive situations. I perform best in environments where trust and clear expectations are important, as this allows me to get the most out of my game.

Why College Soccer

The American college system fits me well because I am looking for a combination of adventure and challenge. Taking this step shows that I am proactive and not afraid to take responsibility or be independent, even if that means pursuing this path largely on my own. I see college soccer as the perfect opportunity to continue developing as both a player and a person while experiencing a new environment.
