1. Your Soccer Background
I am a soccer player from the Netherlands. I spent five years in the youth academy of De Graafschap, where I competed at either the highest or second-highest youth level in the country. After playing for their U21 team, I transferred to Northeast Community College to prepare myself for the next step in American college soccer.
I originally came here as an attacking midfielder, but recently I have mostly been playing as a ball-playing center back. My midfield background helps me feel comfortable on the ball, read the game, and build up play from the back.
During my first semester at Northeast, I was named Athlete of the Week, and our team qualified for nationals. In my first season, I scored 2 goals and provided 9 assists. So far this season, I have 3 goals and 4 assists. I see myself as a hardworking, technical, and versatile player who always wants to improve.
2. What Do You Want to Achieve Through Your College Soccer Transfer?
My main goal is to find a school that challenges me both academically and on the soccer field. I want to join a competitive program where I can keep improving, learn from experienced coaches, and have an important role within the team.
I came to Northeast with the goal of preparing myself for a bigger opportunity in American college soccer. I am thankful for everything I have learned here, but I feel ready for the next step.
Academically, I want to continue working towards my degree at a good university. Location is also important to me because I would love to experience living in a beautiful part of America. Overall, I am looking for a school where I can develop as a player, student, and person while enjoying my college experience.
