Field hockey has played a significant part of my life since I was very young. Even before I signed up myself, I used to come watch my sisters' games and play with my parents at half time. When I was old enough, about six or seven years old, I was signed in to SV Kampong in Utrecht. I have played in the first team my entire field hockey career, the U12, U14, U16 and now in the U18. In my second year of U16, season 2021/2022, we won the national championship for U16 girls. An unforgettable experience!

When it comes to positions on the field, I have moved around a lot. I started in the back, I then moved on to left midfield in the U12 and I have been a forward since the U14. My strong skills are my tricky cross passes, close range goals, my backhand and running the press. I'm also good at putting my teammates in a good position to score with my running lines and passes.

I'd love to play field hockey in the United States, because it seems like an all-round positive/amazing experience to me. First of all, it would of course be a great opportunity to improve my English and have the experience of living in a different country. I've always felt like I could learn a lot from the way of living in and the culture of the US. I am still young, so I feel like I would be going into my adulthood with a new experience, while a lot of people don't get that opportunity. Meeting new people is also something I like a lot, so I look forward to that!

My goal is to receive a bachelors degree at a foreign university and learn a different kind of field hockey, a different approach to the game and sports in general. Education in field hockey is different from the Dutch way so I'm looking forward to learning a different style of play. Furthermore, I hope to be able to contribute to the teams succes and providing lots of excitement at the D1 level.
