Lewis Wheatley

Lewis is a defensive midfielder with experience at a high level of Dutch football. He previously played for FC Utrecht’s U16 reserves, gaining valuable experience within a professional academy environment.

He currently plays for Victoria 1893 in Loosdrecht, representing the club across the U19, U23 and first team. He competes at a high level across all three teams, including the Dutch 4th Division with the first team and 5th Division with the U19s. The U23 team plays in a regional Jong competition featuring many of the strongest teams in the area. Lewis also trains with the first team every week, giving him regular experience in a senior football environment.

As a defensive midfielder, Lewis is calm and composed on the ball and comfortable playing under pressure. He is defensively strong, reads the game well and is effective at winning possession and protecting the defence. He also has a good range of passing and is confident retaining and distributing the ball.

Lewis is now looking to combine his football and academic ambitions by continuing his development and competing at a high level in college soccer in the United States.
