About Me as a Player
I started playing soccer at eight years old with AVV Swift. After one year I was selected for the Boys U9-1 and quickly advanced to U10-1. At eleven I was scouted by AFC, where I have played in every first team and now compete with the U19-1.
I trained at both AZ and PSV, and PSV offered me a place in their academy. At twelve I chose not to go, as I wasn’t ready to live far from home in a host family while also transitioning to high school. Since then, I have continued to grow, always competing in divisional soccer against professional clubs and twice representing the KNVB district team.
I am left-footed (though I write right-handed) and play mostly as a number 10, but I am also strong as a number 8. My main qualities are vision, passing, and creating space for teammates. I give many assists and make the team stronger as a whole.
What I wasn’t ready for at twelve — improving my soccer far away from home — I am now fully prepared to embrace.
Why College Soccer
My name is Boele, I am from Amsterdam, and I would love to spend a year in the United States on a soccer scholarship. What excites me most is the unique combination of high-level sports and academics, something I could never experience in the same way in the Netherlands.I see this as an opportunity to play and train with teammates from all over the world, to push each other, and to grow together — not only as athletes but also as people. At the university, I want to grow academically and personally. I aim to improve my English, develop leadership skills, and take responsibility in a completely new environment. On the field, I want to give everything for the team, work hard, and contribute to our collective success. What I hope to gain from this adventure is more than athletic progress: I want to become someone who can thrive in an international setting, deal with uncertainty in an unfamiliar environment, and be well prepared for the future — both in soccer and beyond.
