Liam Freudenburg

About Myself 

I have played at many different clubs and levels throughout my career. I started at a small club in my hometown, where I played two years above my age group for multiple seasons. When we transitioned to playing on full-size pitches, I moved to WV-HEDW. I spent three years there, competing in the 3rd and 4th divisions. During my time at WV-HEDW, I had the chance to participate in multiple international tournaments, playing against clubs from countries such as England and Belgium. This year, I got selected for Hollandia, where I am competing in the 3rd division. We are playing against professional clubs, including FC Emmen and SC Cambuur. I consider myself a direct and attacking player, always looking to move forward and create goal-scoring opportunities. My main strengths are my 1v1 ability and dribbling, which allow me to be dangerous in the attacking third. Throughout my career, I have played in multiple positions, including winger, attacking midfielder, defensive midfielder, and even both right and left back. However, I feel most comfortable and impactful playing in midfield or on the left wing. 

Why College Soccer? 

As a dual citizen (American and Dutch), I value the college sports culture in the US. Playing college soccer will provide me the unique opportunity to combine high-level athletics with a strong academic education. My recent experience at two ID camps, getting a feel for the day to day life as a student athlete, got me even more excited about playing college soccer. The environment of college soccer will push me to improve every day, both as a player and as a student.
