My Field Hockey Background
I started playing field hockey when I was six years old. I first played as a goalkeeper and moved into defense when I was ten. Since then, I have mainly played as a sweeper and have consistently competed in Royal Uccle Sport's elite teams.
I became Belgian national champion in Division Nationale 1 in the 2022–23 season. In 2026, I represented Portugal with the senior women's indoor team at the EuroHockey Indoor Championship II and also earned a cap with Portugal U21 in field hockey. I am also the first female club umpire at Royal Uccle Sport and have trained and coached young players between the ages of four and six.
My Game
I am a sweeper who can also play at centre back or in midfield. My strengths are my tactical awareness, anticipation and understanding of positioning. I read the movement of teammates and opponents, execute tactical plans with precision and help organize the team from the back. I am dependable, dedicated and accustomed to playing nearly every minute.
Why College Field Hockey
I want to study and play field hockey in the United States because the college system offers an exceptional combination of academics and high-level sport. My goal is to earn my degree while contributing to an ambitious team that competes for championships.
I am looking for a university with excellent academic and athletic facilities and a coaching staff with a clear vision that is shared across the team. My academic interests include business, biology and mathematics. I believe strongly that consistent work creates results, and I want to bring that mindset to a college program.
