My Soccer Background

I started playing soccer at the age of four while living in the United States. When my family moved to Uruguay, I joined Old Boys Club. During my four years there, from ages nine to twelve, I served as team captain and developed the technical and tactical foundations that prepared me for the next step in my career.

At the age of twelve, I joined Albion FC, where I continue to play today. My primary position is center back, although I also have experience at right back and as a defensive midfielder. Since joining Albion, I have competed at Uruguay’s highest youth level, continually challenging myself against strong opposition while developing as both a player and a leader.

Between the ages of twelve and thirteen, I was selected to represent the regional team La Interbalnearia. In my first season, we finished third at the National Championship, and in my second year we were crowned national champions. Competing against the best players from across the country helped me grow both technically and mentally.

Albion has also given me the opportunity to compete internationally. We finished as runners-up at the Newell’s Cup in Rosario, Argentina. I also played in the Copa Limonta in Brazil against leading youth academies, and represented Albion at the Copa Pioneros in Uruguay. We reached the quarterfinals, where we were eliminated by the eventual champions.

Leadership is one of the defining aspects of my game. As a center back, I take pride in organizing the defensive line, communicating with my teammates, reading the game and remaining composed under pressure. My strongest qualities are my leadership, physicality, aggressiveness, positioning and ability to build play from the back with both short passes and long balls.

Soccer has shaped who I am on and off the field. It has taught me discipline, resilience, responsibility and the importance of teamwork. Academically, I follow the International Baccalaureate curriculum at The British Schools Montevideo and intend to study Aerospace Engineering.

Why I Want to Play College Soccer

I want to continue my soccer and academic career in the United States because it offers the ideal environment to pursue both of my passions at a high level. My goal is to compete in college soccer while earning a degree in Aerospace Engineering and challenging myself every day on the field and in the classroom.

I am looking for a university and team that values hard work, discipline and continuous improvement. I want to contribute as a leader, continue developing as a player, and learn from experienced coaches and talented teammates while receiving an excellent education.

Through this experience, I hope to grow not only as an athlete and student, but also as a person. I look forward to embracing new challenges, adapting to a different culture, building lifelong relationships and making a positive impact on my team and university community.
