A scholarship is a financial contribution awarded to students to help reduce the costs of studying at a university.

This form of financial aid is particularly popular in the United States, where the costs of study are often high. Scholarships assist students in reducing these expenses.

Types of Scholarships

There are various types of scholarships available, but the two most common ones are:

  1. Academic Scholarships: These are granted based on academic performance and can vary in the amount they cover of the tuition costs.
  2. Sports Scholarships: These are intended for student-athletes who excel in a particular sport. Universities offer these scholarships to attract talented athletes and strengthen their sports teams.
