What is the SAT test?

The SAT test is a standardized admission exam widely used in the United States for admission to universities and colleges.

The test measures 2 parts:

1. Mathematical skills
2. Critical reading and writing skills (in English)

The SAT consists of multiple-choice questions and an optional essay. The total score of the SAT ranges from 400 to 1600, with the scores from the mathematics and the critical reading and writing sections each ranging from 200 to 800.

Universities use SAT scores as one of the factors to assess the suitability of candidates for admission. The SAT is administered by College Board, an American non-profit organization.
