My Hockey Background
I am a Belgian field hockey player from Brussels. I currently play for Uccle Sport and represent Belgium at the national youth level.
I developed primarily as a midfielder, which helped me build strong technical skills, awareness, and confidence in distributing the ball. More recently, I transitioned to the libero position with the Belgian national team. Playing in both midfield and defense has made me a versatile player who understands how to organize the team defensively while also contributing to the build-up from the back.
I progressed through the district and national pathways before representing Belgium at U15, U16, and U18 level. My international experience includes the 2025 tournament in Valkenswaard, the Six Nations Tournament in Tonbridge in April 2026, and the Eight Nations Tournament in Cork during the summer of 2026.
At club level, I have developed through the U14, U16, and U19 teams at Uccle Sport, competing at the highest level of Belgian youth hockey. Since the second half of 2025, I have regularly played with the U19 team. In February 2026, I began training weekly with the Women’s First Team, and in August 2026, I officially joined the squad competing in Belgium’s top division, the Honor Division. Training and playing alongside older, more experienced athletes has helped me become stronger, more confident, and more composed under pressure.
My main strengths are my defensive organization, physical ability, passing, and ball distribution. I am also a drag flicker on attacking penalty corners and the first runner on defensive penalty corners. My aerials can reach approximately 33 meters, allowing me to help the team create space and move the ball out of pressure.
Alongside hockey, I attend Sint-Pieters College in Brussels, where I follow a Dutch-language immersion program with Latin as an academic option. I received the academic distinction “Very Good” for the 2024–2025 school year and scored 105 on the Duolingo English Test without specific preparation. I have also studied guitar at a music academy for five years, which has taught me patience, discipline, and the importance of consistent practice.
Why I Want to Play College Field Hockey
I want to study and play field hockey in the United States because I am looking for an environment where I can challenge myself at a high level, both academically and athletically. The opportunity to combine a strong university education with competitive field hockey is very appealing to me.
I am excited about becoming part of a close team, learning from experienced coaches, and continuing to develop as a defender and all-around player. I believe my international experience, versatility, physical qualities, and commitment would allow me to contribute to a college program.
My goal is to join a university that values academic ambition, hard work, and team culture. I look forward to experiencing a new country, growing more independent, and making a positive contribution both on the field and within the university community.
