My Hockey Background

I began playing hockey at the age of 8 when I joined Cheltenham Hockey Club. I instantly fell in love with the sport and have been passionate about playing ever since. The speed and variety of the game, along with the chance to make new friends, are aspects I truly enjoy.

As a naturally attacking player, I take on various midfield and forward roles for the teams I play for. My school didn't offer hockey, so my opportunities were limited to club hockey until I was selected for the Stourport Talent Academy, one of the regional centres of excellence in the country. My skills continued to improve, and at 15, I was selected for Cheltenham Ladies 1s, who compete in the National League. Last year, I earned a Hockey Scholarship at Cheltenham College, allowing me to play for three teams and further enhance my game.

My strengths include speed, tenacity, bravery, and a relentless nature. I use my pace to exploit spaces and press defences hard. Although I love attacking, I can also be relied upon to work back and defend. I have been lucky enough to captain teams and enjoy supporting all players on and off the pitch.

Why I Want to Play College Field Hockey in the USA

I aspire to continue my hockey career in the USA. My older brother is currently studying there on an athletic scholarship, so I understand the benefits of access to top-class facilities and coaching. I aim to be the best I can be, both on and off the field, and playing and studying at a US university would help me achieve my goals.

On the pitch, I want to be part of a team that works hard together to achieve success. I am eager to improve my hockey skills and challenge myself at the highest level, while having fun with my teammates.

Off the pitch, the prospect of living abroad, experiencing different cultures, making lifelong friends, and meeting new people from around the world excites me about college in America. I also look forward to continuing my studies in Sport Science and Psychology.
